challenges the pharmaceutical industry in Belgium.

The Belgian Association of Pharmaceutical Industry, Pharma.be, recently presented its memorandum to government negotiators, the social partners and the institutions of health care.

In the memo just released, the pharmaceutical association recommends ongoing consultation and a long-term benefit of patients, society and industry. Three options to ensure the future of the pharmaceutical industry in Belgium without losing sight of the budgetary constraints of insurance.

1. A budget of coherent and future drugs that allow patients continued access to innovative therapies, which gives the authorities a financial guarantee in case of budget deficit and to ensure the strength of the sector in Belgium.

2. Better access to innovative medicines: the patient and health care providers as Pharma.be may have faster access to new treatments, the authorities can improve the quality of care and savings in other areas, such by a reduction of sickness absence.

3. Medicines Agency (AFMPS) strong and credible that will make Belgium a "Reference Member State" in the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which give quick and pragmatic applications for clinical trials in the interest of patients and physicians Belgian, and, thanks to its results will contribute to a favorable regulatory framework for production, clinical trials and investment in the sector.

Pharma.be proposed working together with authorities and partners for the future of the industry (bio) pharmaceutical innovation. Advises Belgian government to make better use of available assets, while the last ten years the pharmaceutical industry has experienced a relatively good development in Belgium and has remained stable during the economic crisis, the Belgian automotive industry for example is seriously affected. The Belgian pharmaceutical sector, meanwhile, continues to lead investments in research and development and clinical trials, manufacturing, logistics and exports.

Industry (bio) pharmaceutical innovation and Pharma.be raised to establish, with the authorities and partners in the health sector, a favorable framework within which the pharmaceutical sector can play its role of art in the area of \u200b\u200binnovation, health and welfare and society.
