Spain develops an application to exchange information on counterfeit drugs with Latin American countries

The English Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (Competent Authority) under the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality, has developed in recent months, a software application to improve the exchange of information on counterfeit drugs with Latin American countries.

reported following the last meeting of the Meetings of Competent Authorities for Medicinal Products for Latin American Countries (MAST), held from 9 to 13 May in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), in which representatives of Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, El Salvador, Venezuela, Panama, Colombia and Spain.
This application was developed under the supervision of the Secretariat of the MAST, and accomplishes the goal of "creating a system to join efforts and to facilitate international cooperation."
Also in this meeting have agreed to implement a procedure for the management of alerts detected illegal drugs both inside and outside of legal channels for marketing and distribution.
have also highlighted the need to implement a system of rapid exchange of information to facilitate notification of each case and the development of coordinated actions between the regulatory agencies of individual member countries of the MAST.
Countries participating in this institution defend the prevention and fight against drugs illegal in each of the member countries for what they want to strengthen national systems through close collaboration between them within the MAST, so you can use to make better use of this early warning system.
In this regard, intend to establish a monitoring system that allows better management of each of the warnings issued and to assist, where possible, to elucidate in detail the characteristics of each case detected for better coordination of actions.
