Ten provinces and the National District in green alert

SANTO DOMINGO .- Ten provinces of the Dominican Republic as well as the National District was declared a green alert e Emergency Operations Center (COE) due to rains affecting the country caused by a low pressure system.

. The agency warned that the system approaches the south coast and could generate showers with thunderstorms and gusty winds during the next few hours.

The Management of Emergency Operations Center (COE), wishes to inform the public that the Immediate Broadcast Bulletin 11:00 AM., day of the date, the Bureau of Meteorology "ONAMET" which states that A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM approaching the southern coast of the Dominican Republic and given the strong activity that is generating this low pressure and as well as the possibility of generating showers with thunderstorms and gusty winds during the next few hours.

Under previous provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 1 of the Law 147-02, on Risk Management, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued a green alert for the provinces: LA ROMANA, SAN PEDRO DE MACORIS, MONTE PLATA, the National District, Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Peravia OCOA SAN JOSE, Azua, Barahona and San Juan de la Maguana.

Residents of these provinces and areas located on steep slopes vulnerable to landslides, those with generators sewage problems of flooding, but above all to those near rivers, streams and creeks should take precautions against flooding. GREEN ALERT
